Buses Serena Mar, also known as Transportes Serena Mar, is a bus company that offers rural and intercity services, covering different routes in the north of Chile. Its first route was offered in 1992 from La Serena to Tongoy, thanks to its founder, don Rigoberto Escobar, along with two collaborators: Ariel Sánchez and Ricardo Cuellar.

Ten years later, in 2002, seeking to improve its connectivity between Ovalle and La Serena, the company Serena Mar launched a new service with minibuses that allowed them to reduce the traveling times and durations. In 2004, they also launched an intercity division that allowed them to broaden their services and destinations, reaching Ovalle, Vallenar, Huasco and Freirina.

In 2012, Serena Mar took another step unifying the IV Region with the capital of the country, which was a starting line to enter a more competitive market, launching services with high quality buses and with different seat types: Salón cama and semi cama. Finally, in 2013, the company inaugurated new services between Huasco and La Serena, and between Ovalle and Santiago.

Buses Serena Mar is a diverse transportation company, with four main divisions: Rural, intercity, special and cargo services. All these divisions are well equipped with modern facilities, very high standard service and they maintain extraordinary customer support and satisfaction.

Its headquarters are located in Coquimbo and, from Santiago, their services depart from the Terminal San Borja. In other regions their buses depart from the Terminal Rodoviario de Coquimbo, the Terminal de buses de La Serena and from the Terminal de buses de Ovalle.
