ABOUT Parque Nacional Nevado Tres Cruces

The Nevado Tres Cruces National Park is part of a wetland of international importance, where you can not miss the Negro Francisco Lagoon and Santa Rosa Lagoon.

This nature reserve was created in 1994, it is located in the Atacama Region, it has more than 59,000 hectares which are divided between Copiapó and Tierra Amarilla, two communes of the region. Biodiversity is extensive, so the park carefully controls every detail through monitoring and censuses for the preservation of flora and fauna in the park.

The desert steppe of the Andean Salt Flats and the High - Andean Desert of Ojos del Salado attracts attention from the park and its plant formations. The salt flats of this park are extensive and sometimes crystalline. In them it is possible to reflect the snowy mountains of the park and the colorful sunsets that the desert gives.

The climatic and atmospheric conditions of the park are ideal for the reproduction of many species of birds. For this reason, in the Nevado Tres Cruces National Park you can find more than 90 species of birds, some of them endangered. Mammals have also made life in the reserve, currently there are 3 types of flamingos,  horned coots, guanacos and vicuñas.

The Nevado Tres Cruces National Park offers various activities such as hiking, trekking, bird watching, picnic, and photography. In some parts of the park, shelters have been set up for those who want to camp on site. Nevado Tres Cruces National Park is 955 kilometers north of Santiago, and to visit this place you must first reach Copiapó. The main land access to this city is through Route 5 and at we take you by bus to Copiapó with the best offers and services.
