Iloca is a coastal town located in the Maule Region and the main summer destination for the inhabitants of the Curicó Province.
In September 2010 the city was affected by a strong earthquake and tsunami, which triggered a large amount of material losses for its inhabitants, which is why the city is part of the Rutas Caletas del Maule Project, which aims to support the recovery of artisanal fishing in the Maule Region and add value to tourism in the sector.
