The Illapel Valley is a tourist attraction located in the Coquimbo Region, 281 km away from Santiago. These can be found in the Cuz Cuz, Céspedes, Cárcamo and Limahuida sectors. For its part, the presence of the Spanish Empire makes the infrastructure of the Municipality, the Villaroel House, Las Casas del Mirador and the Church of San Rafael.
Since the period of the War of the Pacific (1879-1883) Illapel has demonstrated a representative nationalism of the locals, which is why on national dates large celebrations are usually held in all the towns of the commune.
